The secrets of Mohamed Salah's ultra-strict diet
The hygiene of life is an essential part of the profession of high level sportsman. Mohamed Salah has understood this well and this requires a healthy diet. If it is a torture for some footballers, it is not the case for the Egyptian.
A healthy mind in a healthy body, this is a formula that would suit him perfectly! Mohamed Salah will celebrate his 30th birthday on Wednesday and if some athletes are already starting to decline at this age, the pharaoh still has good years ahead of him. The Egyptian striker confided in France Football, on his lifestyle in particular.
Only one pizza per month
The Liverpool player understood that food was an essential factor in the life of a footballer: "This aspect is central to recovery, especially as we play every three days. I love to eat and I am very strict about my diet."
Becoming a footballer means choosing a life far from fast food and that doesn't bother Salah: "I prefer broccoli, sweet potatoes, fish, chicken and always salad. And when I have fun in a big restaurant in London, I prefer sushi. I eat pizza once a month at most. I love burgers but I hardly ever eat them because I feel heavy afterwards."
But when the time comes to return to the country, Mohamed Salah does not forbid himself some local specialties: "When I am in Egypt, I allow myself a koshari. Some will see this diet as an unbearable sacrifice, it is not my case"
